About Pride & Pedantry Tees

I grew up surrounded by books. My parents were bookbinders, so our home was never without stacks of freshly bound volumes, loose pages waiting to be stitched, and shelves filled with stories from every era imaginable. Books weren’t just decorations in our house. They were living things, carefully crafted and deeply valued.

It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with reading. I was especially drawn to classic literature. For me, opening a nineteenth-century novel feels like stepping into a time machine. Through those pages I can experience what life felt like in another era, not as a summary in a textbook, but through the voice of someone who lived it. The social rules, the quiet rebellions, the humor, the heartbreak. It all feels astonishingly present.

Pride & Pedantry grew out of that lifelong love. I create literary-inspired tees for readers who feel the same spark when they open a beloved classic. Whether it’s a clever bit of wordplay, a subtle nod only another book lover would recognize, or a bold tribute to a favorite author, my designs are meant to celebrate the joy of reading and the stories that shape us.
I’m also a passionate supporter of libraries and the freedom to read widely. Stories expand our empathy, challenge our thinking, and connect us across time and culture. I believe we should all have access to a variety of voices and perspectives, even the ones that make us uncomfortable.

If you’ve ever stayed up too late finishing a chapter, carried a novel in your bag “just in case,” or felt personally offended by a movie adaptation, you’re in the right place. Welcome.
